Any way you slice it, the newest crescent shawl by Tin Can Knits is fabulous! The colours of “Slice” are eye-popping! Designers Alexa Ludeman and Emily Wessel say the colour combos for this shawl were inspired by trips to the candy shop in their new book, Mad Colour. And these colour mixes are certainly mouth-watering.

I’m a colour junkie, and I was instantly drawn to Mad Colour’s vibrant, intense, colour-saturated patterns. “Slice” practically jumped off the page at me. And if it was colour that drew me in, it’s the lace detail that will keep me working on this project.
Knit in fingering weight yarn, I’ve chosen Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in Button Jar Blue, Electric Rainbow and Nassau Blue, which remind me of blue fish gummies and jars of jelly beans. I’ve got my own colour madness going on here! Other yarn brands I’d recommend for this project are Ancient Arts Reinvent or Malabrigo Sock—these brands know a thing or two about gorgeous colours.
Once I’m done my holiday knits, this project is next in my queue. I can’t wait to cast on! If you love this shawl as much as I do, stop by the shop and we’ll have some mad fun with colour.
